Arrest made in 2-year-old state wildlife case

A 49-year-old man remains in the Hall County Jail without bond following his recent arrest on a number of charges filed by the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Law Enforcement Division.

They include:

1) POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON (FELONY)

2) POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON (FELONY)

3) POSSESSION TOOLS FOR COMMISSION OF A CRIME (FELONY)

4) THEF TAKING WILDLIFE (MISDEMEANOR)

5) REPORT / RECORD GAME ANIMAL (MISDEMEANOR)

6) TAKING OVER THE BAG LIMIT (MISDEMEANOR)

7) REPORT / RECORD GAME ANIMAL (MISDEMEANOR)

8) REPORT / RECORD GAME ANIMAL (MISDEMEANOR)

9) THEF TAKING WILDLIFE (MISDEMEANOR)

10) REPORT / RECORD GAME ANIMAL (MISDEMEANOR)

11) POSSESSION TOOLS FOR COMMISSION OF A CRIME (FELONY)

Asked for information regarding the arrest, a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) spokeswoman said it is related to a two-year-old incident that was investigated by DNR referred 97.5 Glory FM to that agency.

DNR spokesman, Mark McKinnon, declined to release any information at this time. “I would like to send details, but this is still a very active investigation that we have been working on since 2022,” he wrote in an email, adding that additional information would become available as soon as it’s cleared by those investigating the case.
