Thousands of Georgians, whether at home, school, or work, stopped what they were doing for a few minutes Monday afternoon to view something that won’t come again in the state until 2074: a total eclipse of the sun.
Well, it wasn’t “total” in Georgia, but the moon did cover about 85 percent of the sun around 3:00.
College campuses – such as Brenau and North Georgia (see picture) – were popular gathering places to view the show.
