A Gainesville man remained in jail without bond Monday afternoon following his arrest recently on domestic violence charges following two recent incidents involving the same woman in which she was beaten about the face and locked in a room with him. Charges include aggravated sexual battery.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:
“On (Easter) morning…deputies responded to a safe location to meet with the victim of the crimes, a Gainesville woman, 47. When they arrived, they noticed one of her eyes was bruised and swollen shut. Hall County Fire Rescue transported her to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
According to the preliminary investigation, the latest incident happened on Saturday…at approximately 11 p.m. The suspect, Jason Alexis Miller, 35, of Gainesville, hit the victim repeatedly in one of her eyes with a closed fist in his residence in the 3600 block of Bob Bryant Road. A family member of the victim picked her up at the residence following the incident.
(Earlier in the week on Wednesday night… Miller committed aggravated sexual battery against the same victim. He broke her cell phone and then closed them both in a bedroom of his residence with a sheet of plywood.
Deputies obtained arrest warrants for Miller and arrested him at his residence (Easter morning). He is charged with the following crimes:
- Aggravated battery under the Family Violence Act (felony)
- Aggravated sexual battery (felony)
- False imprisonment (felony)
- Criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act (misdemeanor)
Deputies transported him to the Hall County Jail where he remained held without bond on Monday afternoon…”
