The summer driving season is underway, and while gas prices normally peak this time of year, drivers are getting a reprieve. – so far.
AAA says the average for a gallon in Hall County is down four cents to $2.83 this week compared to a week ago. The statewide average is $2.86, down two pennies. And the national average fell two cents a gallon over the past seven days and is at $3.21 to start the week.
Pump prices are 36 cents cheaper than last June, thanks to this year’s consistently low crude oil prices, according to AAA. Currently, oil supply in the market is outweighing demand. June gas prices haven’t been this low since 2021.
