Texas wreck kills 5 from Ga.; Atlanta man jailed after Jackson Co. chase; Hall pedestrian fatality identified

*FROM GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK: A head-on crash in Texas involving a pickup and minivan has taken the lives of five people from Alpharetta, including two children. Atlanta News First reports the accident happened on Tuesday in Johnson County, Texas. A sixth person from Irving, Texas, also died. Another person from Georgia and the two people in the pickup were taken to a Fort Worth hospital in critical condition.

*A 19-year-old Atlanta man, Jacob Williams, remained in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday following a weekend chase with a state trooper that ended when the officer forced Williams’ car off the road. The state patrol said Wednesday the pursuit began Saturday on Old Pendergrass Road and ended at the U.S. 129 intersection.

*Nearly a week after he was killed, the pedestrian who died in South Hall after being hit by car on McEver Road has been identified. The state patrol released his name Wednesday – Anthony Oliver, 30, Buford. The accident happened in the pre-dawn hours last Thursday.
