*A car similar to one driven by a wealthy New York couple missing for over 40 years has been found in a Georgia pond near the Brunswick hotel where they were last seen. Charles and Catherine Romer disappeared in 1980 while returning home from Miami Beach. Fox5 Atlanta reports a human bone was found inside the vehicle, and the pond is being drained for further investigation. Law enforcement had previously expressed concerns about foul play in the couple’s disappearance, with one theory suggesting they were kidnapped and killed for the $81,000 worth of jewelry Catherine was wearing. A team of sonar searchers from Florida found the car a few days ago.
*Georgia isn’t making the grade when it comes to maternal and infant health. The March of Dimes gave Georgia an “F” in its annual report card. The organization’s findings showed a preterm birth rate of 11.8% for Georgia in 2023. The March of Dimes also found that the preterm birth rate for black mothers was 1.4 -times higher than all other babies.
