Motorcycle wrecks, search underway for car that apparently caused crash; biker OK

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:

“Deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) are investigating a Thursday afternoon traffic accident on Thompson Bridge Road (SR 60) that left a motorcyclist with minor injuries.

The accident, which occurred in the northbound lanes of Thompson Bridge Road in the area of Mill Stone Drive, was reported to 911 at 4:50 p.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the motorcycle driver responsive and alert, although he had bleeding and bruising to both arms.

The initial investigation determined the motorcyclist had been traveling in the northbound right lane when a vehicle in the left lane made an improper lane change. The motorcyclist drove into the merge lane to avoid being hit, striking a curb in the process. The motorcycle appeared to have rolled several times before coming to a stop.

The other vehicle left the scene without stopping.

Investigators are working with local businesses in an attempt to obtain video footage of the incident. Anyone who might have information on the vehicle that left the scene is welcome to call the Hall County Dispatch non-emergency line at 770-536-8812, ext. 8.”
