Details remained sketchy early Saturday, but the Banks County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is reporting the discovery of 11.1 pounds of marijuana in a suitcase inside a bus.
“At 8:00 AM on May 9th,” according to a news release, “Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a consensual encounter with a bus at a BP gas station. During the interaction, deputies requested and received consent to deploy a K9 on the vehicle.”
The dog conducted a “sniff” and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics. according to the release.
“A subsequent search of the area to which K9 Bruce alerted led deputies to a suitcase. Inside the suitcase, deputies discovered approximately 11.1 pounds of suspected marijuana.”
The investigation is ongoing.
